Foundation Skills Courses

Basic Carpentry Skills, starting 23 April on Monday and Tuesday mornings
Location: Memorial Hall, 39 Scott Street, Pooraka

This program will give you practical skills in the
use of hand tools and home maintenance tasks with a focus on carpentry.
The program will include: Planning Employment Pathways, Introduction to OH&S, Interpersonal Communication, Basic Carpentry Skills, Home Maintenance Skills, Resume Writing, Interview Preparation, Personal Budgeting

Would you like to learn in a relaxed and supportive environment, are you thinking about what the future could hold, or are you just looking for a change in career paths?

The programs will provide some modules which are accredited from Certificate 1 in Vocational Education, Statement of Attainment will be issued by TAFESA upon completion.

The program will include: Planning Employment Pathways, Interpersonal Communication, Introduction to OH&S, Using the Internet and Email Etiquette, Customer Service, Telephone Techniques, Intro to Touch Typing, MS Word and MS Excel, Resume Writing & Interview Preparation, Personal Budgeting, Office Procedures.

Introduction to Aged and Disability Care Services, starting 26th April on Thursday pm and Friday am

The program will include: Planning Employment Pathways, Interpersonal Communication, Introduction to OH&S, Senior First Aid, Mandatory Notification Training, Manual Handling & Infection Control, Understanding Dementia, Understanding Diabetes, Cultural Diversity Awareness.
