Pooraka Farm Community Centre (formerly Pooraka Farm Neighbourhood House) is situated on Montague Farm Estate, on the corner of Henderson Avenue and Montague Road right next to the windmill. The modern building, which is light and airy, was constructed in 1993. The Centre is adjacent to a childcare centre and opposite a shopping complex. It is within easy walking distance from Main North Rd, and not far from Mawson Lakes, and there are several bus routes which run nearby. (Go to 'Contact Us' for details.)
High Tea Learning
On Wednesday 7th September 2016 the Community Centre is holding another popular High Tea. Each course will pair a culinary treat with a specific tea that enhances the flavours of the food. The food will be prepared and presented by people from around our community.
The event celebrates Adult Learners Week, which encourages us to ‘Learn outside the Square’. Challenge your thinking and your pallette!
The High Tea begins at noon, and the entry is free. Booking is essential.
In late 2014 the Community Centre produced a booklet recognising and honouring all their volunteers who had devoted their time and energy serving the community. The booklet shares some of the wonderful stories about their journeys and experiences at the Centre. Click on the link below to begin following their journey. Different stories will appear each term, so keep your eye on this space!
